First off- we’d like to send a BIG thanks to Rebel City Rollers for letting us use a track off their new album for the teaser to our full-length skate film (to be released later this year!) Check out some of the tricks, spills and of course awesome music in this promo.

1) How would you describe your sound in 3 words?

“Loud, Fast, RocknRoll – Jay Smoker”

2)Where did you come up with your name for the band?

“It started with wanting to call the band The Rollers.  Unfortunately there are several bands with that name so we had to throw a little something else in there.  We started to think of songs like Rebel Rebel, Rebel Yell, Rebel Waltz and etc. We got drunk and thought it had a ring to it and decided on Rebel City Rollers. – Jay Smoker, Pirate”

3)There are a ton of great punk rock bands to come out of Minnesota, what bands influence you and why?

“70’s punk bands like Dead Boys, Ramones, The Clash, New York Dolls and Johnny Thunders, The Damned, Generation X ect.

80’s bands, Motley Crue, Guns n Roses, Love and Rockets, The Pixes, Jesus and Mary Chain, Husker Du, The Replacements.Other than that we like newer bands like – Violent Soho, The Bronx. And to answer why – Because every band we named fucking rocked. And made us want to do the same. – Jay Smoker, Pirate, Matus 2000, Ryan Moll”

4)What is the best part of playing shows and what is the worst part?

“The pussy and drugs, The worst part Not getting pussy, drugs and money. – Jay Smoker”

5) If you could play with any band anywhere, who and where would you play?

“The Anarchy tour in 1976 in England. And to answer why – Get to play with our heroes The Clash, Sex Pistols, The Damned and the Heartbreakers! – Jay Smoker, Pirate”

6) Whats your favorite place to grab a drink in the city?

“Hands down the CC Club.  You can usually find us there on Sunday and most other nights of the week begging for booze and scheming on bitches. – Jay Smoker, Pirate”

7)What do you you love most about being musicians?

“Playing live, pussy, booze and drugs. DUH! – Jay Smoker, Pirate”

8)If you could get rid of one state in the U.S., which would it be and why?

“NEW JERSEY.  For several reasons.  One because it sucks!  Dirty Jersey is the arm pit of the country.  We’re originally from Philadelphia and everyone from there can’t stand the place.  The beaches are disgusting, full of diapers, used condoms and dirty syringes.  The girls are terrible with horrible spray tans, huge hooker earrings, and god awful accents! It’s a state that doesn’t even have a major city.  The northern part of the state just bites off of New York and the southern part of the state bites off Philly. It’s bullshit. We hope a major earthquake hits that motherfucker and it sinks straight into the Atlantic so PA can have the ocean front.  Philly beach what what! – Jay Smoker, Pirate”

9) In your opinion, what is the most punk rock thing that  you could ever do?

“Wow this is a tough one.  I could say some really fucked up shit but I guess create a style of music that’s never been heard before. – Jay Smoker, Pirate”

10)Any last words shout outs?

“Yeah we’d like to thank everyone who paid for or downloaded our debut album “Bottom Shelf Revival”.  Go to rebelcityrollers.com to download it for free.  Our friends in town who’ve helped us out with gigs etc.  You all know who you are.  Our main man bartender Kevin at the CC Club.  If you don’t know him look for the dude in the FEMA camp t-shirt.

Keep an ear out new recordings from us in 2014.  Got a 7″ split in the works with our boys Ripsnorter.

Keep on rockin and rollin muthafuckers!
R.C.R.”
